American Honeys

On a recent drive to Avery's soccer practice I had a Lady Antebellum CD playing, and whenever I have that on in the car the girls always beg me to play American Honey.  So for your listening pleasure and mine American Honey.  With Cody- aka daddy- on bass!!

Allie is 9, Avery is 6, Olivia is 4 (but she will be 5 in less than 2 months, so she is pretty much 5), and Addison is 3 1/2 years    old.  This video was taken on March 6, 2013.

Super Speed Skipper

Just a few weeks ago Allie competed in the Super Speed Skipper challenge at the Elementary school (March 2013).  She first took part in the double under competition.  Which she did awesome in.  Next it was off to the main event, the speed skipper competition.  Allie got 199 jumps in 1 minute!!  She did awesome!!  She got the most jumps in her entire grade!!  She was the Ultimate 3rd grade Champion!!

She came home so happy that day.  She told me that it was the best day of her life!  Here's to many more best days of your life!!

Soccer update

Allie and Avery had their first games last Saturday (March 9, 2013). We survived. In fact we did better than survive, we rocked SOCCER!!

Avery ran and kicked like a pro. She got hit in the chest with a ball pretty hard. It made her cry, but after sitting out for a few minutes she went back in as goalie. As goalie Avery stopped the other team from scoring. It was a great first game!

Avery has a good coach who has his team practicing twice a week. It's a lot, but Avery really loves it. Avery is so athletic and loves to run. She is super fast and is instantly good at anything she tries. So picking up soccer will be a breeze!!

Allie as you can guess was pretty nervous for her first game. She never had a practice, and outside of playing around with friends at recess, had really never touched a soccer ball. In all honesty she had every right to be nervous. All the girls on her team have played before and she was expected to play the whole game. They didn't have any subs. So Allie had to play the entire game. Yikes, right? Well... You would never have known that this was Allie's first game. She looked awesome out there. She was running and kicking like a pro.

A few minutes into the first quarter a scout for the club team in St. George walked up to me and asked me if I was Allie's mom? He asked me if she would be interested in being on the team up there. Can you believe that? Just a few minutes into the game and Allie is already the star and that's not even the best part.

Allie SCORED 2 goals back to back!!! It was so cool to see her rock the soccer field!! She had 2 of her teams 3 goals!! Not bad for her first time, wouldn't ya say?

My girls continue to amaze me! Here's to a good first season!!!

What the...?

What do really long socks,- strait out of the seventies- shin guards, and new shoes all have in common? If you guessed soccer then give your self a gold star!!

Cody and I just entered the world of soccer and we have no idea what we are doing. Like for instance... Do shin guards go on the outside or inside of your awesome retro 70ies style tube socks? The answer, thank you google, is on the inside. It will help the shin guards stay in place better.

Wish Cody and I luck. Honestly basketball is so much easer. Just put on some shoes and play ball;)

Allie and Avery have their first game on Saturday. Looks like I have a date with google. "Soccer rules?"
